A 28-year-old man from Mosta yesterday pleaded guilty to slightly injuring a Police sergeant as well as to assaulting, threatening and insulting the sergeant early yesterday morning.
Before magistrate Miriam Hayman, Elvin Azzopardi also pleaded guilty to resisting arrest, disobeying police orders, refusing to give his particulars to the police, using vulgar language in public, breaching the peace and driving under the influence of alcohol.
The man was granted bail against a deposit of Lm500 and a personal guarantee of Lm1000. The court also ordered a pre-sentencing inquiry report to be carried out.
Police Inspector Therese Sciberras prosecuted while Dr Edward Zammit-Lewis assisted the accused.
