The new ASM Poiatti National Championships will commence tomorrow at the ASM Ta’ Qali racetracks.
All driver members and new drivers with the Autocross cars and Motocross bikes will be competing in these races with great interest in the sport. Newer drivers will be competing too in this popular Offroad Circuit Motorsport. All disciplines will be performing in a ‘One day long’ race event.
All Racetracks within the premises have been extensively modified both for the competitors and spectators alike.
In the Motocross Track some of the big super ramps have been modified to be more attractive to the Motocross novice, the expert and the new-comer the sport. Yet, the track is still challenging the expert Motocrossers who like to fly high on each and every ramp in the circuit. The track modifications will also improve the riders’ performance of both the small and larger capacity motocross bikers, namely the 125cc and the 250cc and over classes which will also be divided into Class A and B in each category.
The Autocross cars will again be run on the periphery of the premises. Yet, extensive alterations have been made to the racetrack mainly for additional safety of the competitors.
In this popular section, four new cars are expected to be challenging the rest of the field with their newer lighter and more technically advanced vehicles. These are expected to be more competitive than the rest, yet one has to be patient and wait until the cars are sorted out well in a short period of time.
The Bangers will be running a ‘Contact Race’ on the oval circuit in-front of the main Grand Stand. Bangers will be at their best during each Car Demolition race that is held during the Motor sport season.
The first racing programme at the ASM Ta’ Qali Racetracks on Sunday 14 October is to include car and motorcycle races from all the various sections in a One Day Big Event. Practice sessions will be held this afternoon. Racing tomorrow starts at 12pm.
