MIA’s passenger data keep breaking record after record.
The September figures, posted on MIA’s website this past week, show that 172,000 passengers flew in during September, making this the highest number ever to come in during that month. This was also a 16 per cent improvement on last year’s performance.
Once again, Gatwick with 32,000 passenger movements was the top destination or departure point for people coming to Malta. Luton (Ryanair) accounted for 10,000 passenger movements, a huge 440 per cent increase.
The UK, with 125,000 passenger movements again came top as destination or country of origin, while Ireland (Ryanair again) saw 7,227 passenger movements.
