From Dr F. Portelli MD FRCS
I was struck by the following statement made by Josie Muscat in The Sunday Times of Malta of 7 October:
“I do not think that people’s low perceptions of our political system, our Law Courts, our professional ethics, even of our churchmen, are unjustified.
“Does it help a society to believe that everyone has a price…”
So Josie Muscat thinks that people’s low perceptions of our professional ethics are justified.
I personally feel that Josie has contributed in no small way to this pitiful state of affairs by “corrupting” some professional people with unethical financial commissions – and to my mind he acts as if he too believes that everyone has a price
I believe that if we do not stand up to be counted, the ethical standards of the Maltese medical profession will go down the abyss.
