The National Commission for the Promotion of Equality [NCPE] is offering the public training courses on gender equality in various locations around the country.
In particular, regional training is scheduled between 22 and 25 October. Such courses form part of the Taking Gender Equality to Local Communities project, which is co-funded by the Community Framework Strategy on Gender Equality (2001-2005).
The two-hour courses are of particular interest to members of local organisations, persons active in local communities, and post-secondary and tertiary level students.
The themes to be covered during training include: Gender concepts as well as Gender in relation to family issues, leisure, education, entrepreneurship, employment and decision-making.
Those who are interested are invited to complete an application form, which can be downloaded from www.equalityincommunity.com and send it to NCPE by email on [email protected] or fax 2590-3851. Application forms may also be collected from local councils in Malta and Gozo.
The training courses are being offered free of charge and availability of seats is limited. Personalised training courses for NGOs and other local organisations may be organised on request.
