Seventeen Maltese personalities were recently appointed as 34U Ambassadors to assist the national tree planting campaign in its mission of afforestation, by raising more public awareness.
The 34U Ambassadors, which include television presenters, journalists, musicians, radio presenters and DJs will be helping 34U by passing a message to get more people and organisations to contribute towards the national tree planting campaign.
The ambassadors are: Moira Delia, Ira Losco, Nathaniel Attard, Antonia Micallef, Julia Farrugia, Peter Carbonaro, Nirvana Azzopardi, Peter Paul Galea of Tribali fame, Mireille Bonello, Carlo Borg Bonaci, Pierre Cordina, Anthony Busuttil, John Bundy, Eileen Montesin, Claudette Pace, Louise Tedesco, Peter Bonello and Rachel Attard.
The newly appointed Ambassadors were given a badge and certification to commemorate the occasion.
The personalities will be present during the activities of the first Tree-Planting Weekend taking place between Friday and Sunday at the Foresta 2000 site at Mellieha, near the Red Tower. 9,000 trees will be planted at the site over the three days to replace the 3,000 trees that were destroyed by unknown vandals in May this year.
