Centre Of excellence of education – MIM commits itself to this vision

Malta Independent Wednesday, 17 October 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 14 years ago

The Malta Institute of Management congratulated the government for its vision of having Malta as a centre of excellence for education and augured that it would see a strategic plan towards this vision, and a plan of implementation in place at the earliest.

The MIM said measures in relation to the stipends should not discriminate between Maltese students studying in foreign universities and those studying with Maltese private institutions.

The MIM expressed disappointment at the fact that the scholarship schemes were not extended to persons studying on a part-time basis. Malta should encourage education in all its forms and not one particular sector, it said. Not all Maltese have the opportunity to leave work for a number of years but they should still be encouraged to further their studies. This would be possible through part-time study.
