A national tree planting weekend at the Foresta 2000 site in Mellieha has been put off because of the inclement weather.

The tree planting will now be held on 26, 27 and 28 October.

Activities for the family are being planned by the Ministry for Rural Affairs and the Environment, together with Din l-Art Helwa and BirdLife, which manage the site.

Apart from tree planting, there will be entertainment and regular tours at Torri l-Ahmar, the Ghadira nature reserve and the LIFE project at l-Irdum tal-Madonna in Mellieha, where the Yelkouan shearwater is being given protection.
