No one was injured yesterday afternoon when a rubbish skip exploded in Gozo, police said.
The skip was located near the quarries in the limits of San Lawrenz when it caught fire and exploded.
Since the skip was in the vicinity of a fireworks factory, there were initial concerns that the explosion could have had worse repercussions.
Duty Magistrate Dr P Coppini was informed about the case.
Police investigations are still under way.
