Sliema Hotsticks BDO 0

Shorn of many of their first team players, Sliema Hotsticks were no match for Rabat Depiro as the final result indicates.

Rabat went out straight on the attack and took six minutes to open the score. From their first Short Corner action, it was Jonathan Seychell who 'pushed in'; Kevin Micallef stopped well, to immediately pass the ball to Shawn Falzon, who in turn passed again to Seychell to drive the ball home.

On the 16th minute a poor clearance by Sliema's central defender Keith Vella enabled Josef Antonelli to notch goal No. 2.

Two consecutive 'Short Corners', on the 21st and 23rd minutes produced goals three and four, by Shawn Falzon and Jonathan Seychell respectively.

A good solo effort by Josef Antonelli on the 32nd minute made the score 5 -0 and on the 34th , from yet another short corner action, Shawn Falzon made it 6- 0 with a terrific hit.

The second half was more of the same with goals coming in the 41st minute by Shawn Falzon and in the 51st after good work by Josef Antonelli and Kevin Micallef, it was again through Shawn Falzon, his fourth and Rabat's eighth.

In the 66th minute it was Kenneth Debattista who rounded off the score with goal no. 9, when he dived to meet a Shawn Falzon pass, to flick the ball high into the net.

Umpires: Reno Cremona and Andre Ghio.
