The breast screening programme to be introduced next year was not possible today because Malta did not have the necessary human resources, the Health Ministry said on Sunday.

Such a programme would be possible next year because of the modern facilities which would become available at the new Mater Dei Hospital, it said. In reporting the ministry’s statement yesterday, The Malta Independent inadvertently referred to the unavailability of equipment, instead of to human resources.
