A 25-year-old man was yesterday conditionally discharged for two years after he was found guilty of possession of cannabis.

Noel Ellul from Qormi was found guilty of simple possession of cannabis between December 1999 and January 2000.

However, the court, presided over by Magistrate Lawrence Quintano, found Ellul not guilty of trafficking and possession of cannabis with intent to traffic.

The court found Ellul guilty of simple possession of cannabis and conditionally discharged him for two years.

Police inspector Norbert Ciappara prosecuted and Dr Roberta Abela appeared for Ellul.
