A 25-year-old man was yesterday granted bail after he pleaded not guilty to the charges of theft.

Tristan Falzon, from Qormi, pleaded not guilty to the charges of stealing around Lm300 from 87-year-old Guzeppi Mangion in Qormi on Sunday at around 11pm.

Mr Falzon was also charged, before presiding Magistrate Antonio Mizzi, with relapsing.

Magistrate Mizzi granted Mr Falzon bail against a personal guarantee of Lm1,000 and a deposit of Lm1,000.

Police Inspector Daniel Zammit prosecuted while Dr Franco Debono appeared for the accused.
