Section ‘A’
Zejtun-Ghaxaq 1-1
Ghaxaq had a good start and after only four minutes Kevin Gambin’s shot was saved by Fardell with the ball bouncing off the post before being cleared to safety.
Zejtun came back strongly and went close through free-kicks taken by Elton Caruana and Marco Gerada and on the half-hour an attempt by Jean Paul Abela was well saved by Celeste.
Four minutes before the break Ghaxaq broke the deadlock through Kevin Gambin following a good move by Bjorn Dalli.
Five minutes into the second half Zejtun drew level through a Marco Gerada free-kick with Ghaxaq immediately responding as Bjorn Dali’s angled shot was well saved by Fardell.
In the 71st minute Zejtun were close through a Marco Gerada free-kick which went just high over the bar and ten minutes from time the Ghaxaq goalkeeper brought off a difficult save to foil Glen Azzopardi Busuttil.

Attard-Siggiewi F.C. 4-1
Siggiewi had a great start when a free-kick taken by Jason Camilleri was finished off by Jonathan Debono who gave them an early lead.
Siggiewi were then again close through Eman Ciappara with Attard gradually taking hold of the midfield sector as they now started to dictate the run of play.
Attard went close through Clive Lanzon, Josef Axisa and Floyd Farrugia with Siggiewi responding through Eman Ciappara whose free-kick was saved by Formosa. Eight minutes before the break
Attard obtained a deserved equalising goal through a low angled shot by Fabian Cutajar.
Attard dominated the second period and after only three minutes good work by Floyd Farrugia was finished off by a low shot by Yan Grech which beat Vassallo to make it 2-1. On the hour Firas Aboulezz made it 3-1 with an excellent shot from a direct free-kick and later on Attard hit the upright through Floyd Farrugia.
In the 88th minute Attard added a fourth goal through substitute Mark Saliba following good work by another substitute James Anastasi.

Zebbug R.-Xghajra T 2-1
After just two minutes the Rangers’ custodian Duncan Galea denied Xghajra off a shot by Jesmond Azzopardi with Zebbug going close through Jeremy Gatt.
On 10 minutes Jesmond Azzopardi finished off a good move by Lizio Grech to put Xghajra 1-0 ahead but gradually Zebbug pressed forward and were unlucky when an attempt by Gordon Mallia hit the post.
They were then denied by Camilleri off an Errol Cachia free-kick but they deservedly equalised in the 45th minute through George Saliba.
Early in the second period Zebbug were close through Jeremy Gatt and Errol Cachia. The match had to be suspended for five minutes in the 62nd minute when the lights at the Centenary Stadium went off and as play resumed Xghajra hit the post through Lizio Grech.
Zebbug continued to sustain the pressure and in the closing seconds they scored the decisive goal from a Gordon Mallia free-kick.
In added time Xghajra were close to obtaining an equaliser but the Rangers somehow held on to their slender lead.

Section ‘B’
Pembroke-Luqa SA 0-1
After just four minutes Luqa were close through Chris Penza but two minutes later Pembroke hit the post through a Jeffrey Fenech free-kick. In the 13th minute Luqa met the same fate through Alessandro Pirrone and the same player hit just wide on 29 minutes.
Two minutes before the end of the first period Luqa forged ahead through a low shot by Alessandro Pirrone following good work by Jason Cutajar.
Four minutes after the change of ends Pembroke had a Steve Micallef effort which was cleared off the line by Martin Dimech.
Then Luke Dimech hit just wide with Luqa’s reply producing a shot by Mark Said which finished inches wide of the far post.
Four minutes from time Pembroke were again close through Simon Buhagiar.
