New Routes from Ryanair

Malta Independent Thursday, 1 November 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 14 years ago

Ryanair, Europe’s largest low fare airline, launched three new routes this week, to Valencia, Barcelona (Girona) and Stockholm (Skavsta).

Announcing the new route launches, Ryanair’s sales and marketing manager for Southern Europe, Bridget Dowling said: “Ryanair is going from strength to strength in Malta with seven routes already operating and an eighth route to Venice (Treviso), due to operate from 13 December. Once all eight routes are fully operational, we will be carrying a total of approximately 370,000 passengers to and from Malta per annum. This is a great result considering Ryanair only began operations to Malta a year ago.

“We have seen record bookings on the 4 latest routes to be announced from Valencia, Barcelona, Stockholm and Venice, with a total of 11,700 seats already sold. There were 106 passengers on board the first flight from Valencia while the Barcelona flight had 168 passengers booked yesterday. The flight from Stockholm was completely full today with 189 seats sold. We are confident that these positive figures will continue.”

Passengers could now fly to London, Dublin, Pisa, Barcelona, Bremen, Stockholm, Valencia and soon to Venice (Treviso). Passengers may log on to www.ryanair.com.
