The sustainable management of beach resources in Sicily and Malta is being addressed by Project MaSpi, and a training seminar has been held to discuss the application of the Bathing Area Registration and Evaluation (BARE) technique.

The seminar was organised by the Foundation for International Studies (FIS) and the Euro-Mediterranean Centre on Insular Coastal Dynamics (ICoD).

The training seminar also included a field visit to Golden Bay. Management plans will be drawn up for six Maltese beaches under the project - Ghadira Bay, Golden Bay, Ghajn Tuffieha Bay, Gnejna Bay, Ramla Bay and San Blas Bay, together with 19 bays in Sicily.
