Juventus FC will be coming over to Malta for a training camp between 6 and 12 January.

This was confirmed yesterday at a joint press conference held at the Juventus Media Centre in Turin, between Renaissance Productions Ltd. and Juventus FC.

Negotiations for such a camp to be held in Malta have been ongoing since last summer. In fact, The Malta Independent had exclusively reported on 9 August, that Valletta would be playing against them. Then, City president Victor Sciriha had admitted that the citizens were in negotiations to be Juve’s opponents for the match in Malta.

The press conference was addressed by Dr Anton Tabone, RpL Director, together with Juventus Managing Director, Jean-Claude Blanc and Commercial Director Marco Fassoni.

During the conference Jean Claude Blanc said that it will be an important time for Juventus as they prepare to embark on the second important part of the season and that the mild weather of Malta could help them in their cause. Blanc also referred to the fact that Juventus have a very big following in Malta.

RPL Director Anton Tabone said that anticipation in Malta was already sky-high. Last week Juventus Team Manager Gianluca Pessotto was in Malta to finalise arrangements. Dr Tabone said he hoped that this would not be an isolated event but that it will be the start of a long-term partnership

During their stay in Malta Juventus will also be playing a friendly match against Valletta FC on 9 January.
