Priests Inspired by St George Preca in their reflections

Malta Independent Wednesday, 7 November 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 13 years ago

The theme of the Course for Priests’ Renewal this year is inspired by St George Preca and is entitled: “St George Preca: Courage and Prophecy, Pastoral Vision and Action today.”

The first session of the course is spread over three days and started yesterday at the Tal-Virtu Seminary. The Archbishop, Mgr Paul Cremona, OP, is attending.

The first day discussed “Laymen as Protagonists” and their formation as part of the parish, in professional life and the socio-economic and political fields.

On the second day, the discussion is about “Woman in the Pastoral” and there are workshops about women employed in the judiciary, in politics and social work. The evening discussion will be about “The Psychological Development and Morals of Children Today” and about the formation of faith in children. The children themselves shall be speaking about themselves as protagonists in the parish.

The third day will discuss “The Formation of Adolescents and Youths Today”. Another session of the course, with the same programme and speakers, is to be held on 4-6 December, when another group of diocesan priests will participate.

The course is organised by the Commission for the Theological and Pastoral Renewal within the Secretariat for the Archdiocese’s Clergy and Members of the Institutes of the Consecrated Life.
