Diamonds International are holding their Timeless jewellery exhibition at the Hilton conference centre, Portomaso.

Sales and marketing director Karl Micallef said that around 170 showcases were on exhibit and many of the brands represented by the company were launching some of their new products at the exhibition.

Diamonds International was launching for the first time in Malta, the Chanel and Gucci jewellery as well as the exclusive Jacques Cousteau watch by IWC and the Alinghi watch by AP, Mr Micallef said.

Two other exclusive watches showcased at the event are the Ulysse Nardin watch called ‘The Freak’, a Carrousel-Tourbillon watch which rotates and has no hands, no winder and no crown, as well as the ‘Magic hour’ by Piaget.

Diamonds International have also been creating their own line of jewellery for the past six years and launched a ring collection, which is a 7.6 Carat diamond, cut according to their own instructions. The rough diamond was transported to Antwerp where it was cut and fashioned. The jewel was designed and produced in Valenza Po.

Diamonds International operates under the mother company, Classic Jewellers, and was founded in 1999. It was inaugurated in April 2000 and represents 32 top international brands such as Cartier, Damiani, Mikimoto, Piaget and Gucci all on exclusive basis.

“Each year, the Timeless exhibition has proved a success and it is becoming increasingly hard to top the success of the previous year,” Mr Micallef said.

The exhibition is open to the public from today until Sunday, from 10am to 8pm.

Mr Micallef said that a jewel or a watch will be donated to the Malta Community Chest fund and the Richmond Foundation.
