Malta’s Tony Drago has reached the Last 32 stage of the World 9-Ball championship being held in Quezon City, The Philippines.
In the Group stage, he managed a second place and went on to meet Denmark’s Bahram Lotfy, who finished third in Group 11.
Drago won both his matches in the Group stage, beating Worts 9-7 and Kaplan 9-4.
Yesterday the Valletta-born cueist maintained his good form at these championships with a commanding 10-7 win which gained him entry into the Last 32.
In this stage, until yesterday evening, it was not known who Drago would be facing for a place in the Last 16 as the Last 64 match between Immonen of Finland and Fu Che Wei of Taipei had not yet been played.
