Greece is the country with the highest density of point of sales machines, with no less than 44,000 working all over the country, a recent European Central Bank statistic shows.
Malta is fourth in this special classification: with 22,000 POS for “every million of inhabitants”.
Cyprus is second with 28,000 POS again for every million of inhabitants, while Spain is third with the highest absolute number of POS in any country in Europe – 1.1 million, which works out at 25,000 for every million inhabitants.
Finland is fifth and Luxembourg is eighth while Italy and France are in the ninth and tenth places.
