The first semi final resulted in a mis-match, as Compleet made their intentions known from the start. Depiro had a sort of recovery in the second session, but Omar Said’s treys and Compleet’s forceful play gave them little chance of an upset. Michael Naudi did all the spadework for Compleet, and then took a backseat, and as usual, Roderick Vella was Depiro’s point of reference.

Depiro made just the one change, as David Agius came in, for the first time this season, in lieu of Ian Terribile. Kristin Baldacchino was on the bench for Compleet, but was not needed on court.

The first minutes seemed to offer a balanced match.

Then Compleet took over, and Naudi and Adrian Micallef flashed through the opposing defence, in a fluid 18-0 run.

Compleet changed their side in the second quarter. Depiro came out of their shell, and led by Emanuel Lupo, they completed a 9-2 run, for a 15-31 score. Sliema got in their stride again, and Omar Said sank a brace of treys, as his side inched forward again. Depiro pulled back some hoops, and at the interval Compleet's lead had gone down marginally, at 41-25.

After the break Compleet put in a further 8-0 run, with another Said trey.

Depiro were deflated with a further 8-0 run, and two Said treys. After three sessions Compleet were out in front, at 72-37.

The last quarter Compleet put in their bench players, with Jonathan Zammit’s trey starting a closing 13-2 run, as the Sliema side were still dictating play till the end.
