I refer to the news report, Rising costs a major concern – MLP leader (TMID, 12 November).

I refer to the letter that BirdLife Malta sent to the newspaper In-Nazzjon and confirm that the donation given by the Malta Labour Party was not made to the two bank accounts opened by the Rural Affairs and Environment Ministry after the vandal attacks in Mellieha last May.

The financial contribution was made to BirdLife and to the Foresta 2000 account, not the HSBC and BOV accounts opened by the ministry after the vandal acts.

The opposition allegation is therefore unfounded.
