Golf: Winner Of the Homes of Quality tournament 2007 carries away trip for two to Tuscany

It was Jackie Reid, an avid Marsa Sports Club Golfer, who has carried away the honours at the first edition of The Homes of Quality Golf tournament that was held at the Royal Malta Golf Club last weekend.

The tournament included a men’s stableford competition and a separate ladies’ stableford competition. The top 72 scores from both competitions then qualified for the final round. All competitors fought it out for the top prize consisting of a 5-day trip for two to Tuscany, including entry to a top Tuscan golf course whilst there, with complements of Homes of Quality, members of the Frank Salt Real Estate Group.

Jenny Scicluna led the ladies’ round with 41 points, followed by Jackie Reid on 40. The leading man was Simon Micallef Stafrace with 39 points, followed by Steven Boyle with 37.

At the final round Jackie Reid was the overall winner, who scored a very creditable 37 points to add to her day 1 total making an overall score of 77 points.

The overall winner of the ladies category was Jenny Scicluna, followed by Maureen Borg. Andrew Holland won the men’s category with Steven Boyle as runner up.

The men’s longest drive was won by Nigel Hall whilst the winner of the ladies longest drive was Sue Wibrew.

Men’s nearest the pin was won by Andrew Holland and that of the ladies by Maureen Borg.

The prizes were presented during an evening get together sponsored by the Frank Salt Real Estate Group. Frank Salt himself made the presentation and expressed his pleasure at seeing the overall competition won by one of the lady golfers.
