When Dutch choir conductor Johanna van Lent-Singels moved to Malta, she was immediately impressed by the many talented singers and musicians on our shores. In November 2002, she founded EnKor, which has now developed into one of Malta’s leading choirs.
Through the past 5 years, EnKor has performed in concerts, on radio and TV, and also during prestigious events such as the festivities marking Malta’s entry into the EU, CHOGM, the opening of the new Dutch Embassy and many others. EnKor was also invited to perform both in Amsterdam and The Hague in the Netherlands in November 2004.
To celebrate the 5th anniversary since EnKor’s inception, the choir and its band will be performing at St. Julian’s parish church tomorrow during the 6.30pm Mass. The public will be welcomed with a repertoire of sounds: classical pieces, together with the choir’s own original compositions, and what it is best known for – its gospel singing!
