A man was yesterday injured after he fell into a basement in Tourist Street, Bugibba, police said.

Preliminary investigations showed the man, who is probably a foreigner, for some reason fell the height of a storey-and-a-half into the yard of a basement.

He was retrieved up by officials of the Civil Protection Department and taken to St Luke’s Hospital by ambulance.

Up to the time of going the print, neither the nationality nor the condition of the man had been divulged by the police.

Police investigations are still under way.
