The Archbishop, Mgr Paul Cremona, OP, last week met the employees of APS Bank, making it the first time that the bank’s employees were formally addressed by the Archbishop representing AROM Holdings. The latter is a newly set up company owned by the Archdiocese of Malta which holds the majority shareholding in APS Bank.
The occasion was one of the bi-annual information meetings the bank holds for staff members, which this time was also attended by the board of directors. Although APS Bank is a commercial financial institution, it has a social mission to implement both in Malta and now in the eurozone.
Mgr Cremona focused on the need of high ethical standards and the social role of the institution, reminding all present that the customers’ needs were central to the activities of the bank.
The Archbishop then took the opportunity to mix with the employees individually.
