Malta Independent Wednesday, 21 November 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 14 years ago

A 23-year-old man who yesterday pleaded guilty to assaulting and insulting a man in May in Zabbar, was given a suspended jail term.

Joseph Fava, from Zabbar, pleaded guilty before Magistrate Saviour Demicoli to assaulting David Gialanze and breaching the peace.

He was jailed for 18 months suspended for three years after the court took into consideration that Fava pleaded guilty at an early stage and he also apologised in court.

Police Inspector Alex Grech led the prosecution.
