Caroline Navarro Exhibits at UN

Malta Independent Sunday, 25 November 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 14 years ago

Artist Caroline Navarro recently returned home to Malta following a two-week untitled exhibition of her paintings in the United Nations in New York. Her Malta-inspired 12 vibrant acrylic paintings on canvas were displayed in the main lobby of the Secretariat block between 29 October and 10 November. This opportunity offered her great exposure.

While in New York Caroline visited many museums, exhibitions, music performances and made connections with some galleries. She left some work in a private gallery in Soho and will be taking part in some exhibitions over the next month.

Luckily in Chelsea that week Caroline was able to go to the opening party and meet American Painter Ross Bleckner, youngest artist ever to exhibit solo at the Guggenheim in New York. American abstract impressionist painter Cy Twombly also opened his exhibition at the famous Gogoshein gallery in Chelsea that same week. Caroline also enjoyed a book launch and presentation by Chuck Clos but the highlight of her visit was to meet the 96-year-old world famous sculptress Louise Bourgeois.

Caroline is sponsored by Lufthansa, Middlesea Insurance, Malta Tourism Authority and the Permanent Mission of Malta to the United Nations.
