The exhibition “Domestic Mediterranean: Science as a link between cultures”, is the University of Malta’s output from its involvement in a series of EU-funded research projects.

The exhibition showcases several diverse aspects of the Mediterranean region, focusing specifically on linkages between natural and social systems. Aspects of studies conducted in the ambit of the MedCore (Mediterranean Coastal River Ecosystems) research project were also presented. The aims of the project were to utilise scientific research to contribute towards sustainable management of coastal resources.

The exhibition was inaugurated by the Minister of Education, Youth and Employment, Louis Galea. During the event, Louis F. Cassar, director of the International Environment Institute, presented an overview of the research activities in which the University of Malta team was involved, in a variety of study sites across the Mediterranean.

The exhibition will be open to the public from today until 28 November, and again on December 6, 7, 10-12, between 9.30am and 4pm, at the Chemistry Building, third Floor, University of Malta, Msida.
