The Archbishop, Mgr. Paul Cremona OP will be presiding at a celebration of the Eucharist, at St Helen parish church, Birkirkara on Friday, 30 November, at 6.30pm, during which he will be instituting five sixth-year seminarians as acolytes. They are Nicholas Joseph Doublet (Birkirkara), Keith Scicluna (Zabbar), Luke Seguna (Tarxien), and Andrea Zaffarese and Ronnie Zammit (both from Attard).
The institution as acolytes marks another step in the seminarians’ formation for the priesthood. As acolytes they will assist priests and deacons in their ministry, distribute the Eucharist to their fellow brethren including the sick, continue to grow in their personal love for the Eucharist and act and speak in such a way that they will be worthy servants to the Lord and the Church.
The seminary community is asking for prayers for more vocations and that the Lord may bless all seminarians so that the Church may always have shepherds according to his heart.
