Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi yesterday filed two separate libel suits against the Malta Labour Party’s media executive Mark Farrugia, and One News head of news, Miriam Dalli.

The first writ filed against Mr Farrugia was in connection with an article published on the MLP’s e-paper Maltastar.com on 14 November entitled Systematic lies.

Dr Gonzi claims the article was libelous and defamatory in his regard.

The second libel suit was filed against Ms Dalli in connection with Super One Radio’s commentary, again on 14 November, which the Prime Minister also contends was libelous and defamatory.

Dr Gonzi requested the court to declare both cases to be libelous against him and requested compensation.
