Despite being plagued by an injury, Pieta’s Bulgarian midfielder Martin Deanov is thought to be the most sought after player of the top clubs in the Premier League.
In fact, one expects a battle royale for his services during the January transfer window.
This newspaper believes that some clubs have already contacted Pieta Hotspurs about a possible move by the player and though coach Carmel Busuttil is reluctant to part company with his star midfielder, it is possible the club’s administration may allow the player to move after giving such a sterling service since he joined them.
Deanov is thought to be attracting the interest of Valletta, Sliema and Birkirkara and Marsaxlokk might also step into the limelight if some of their players, as is expected, are also on the move.
It is known that Valletta will be pushing for two of their players, at least. These are Jamie Pace and Kevin Sammut. If these are allowed to go by the champions, then they will make a bold move to get Deanov.
The above mentioned clubs have been somewhat disappointing in this first part of the season and they are all expected to be active in the January transfer window in an effort to strengthen their squads.
