Suspended Term for Egyptian

An Egyptian man was yesterday given a one-year jail term suspended for two years after being found guilty of gaining entry to Malta under a false passport.

Essameldin Mohamed Daoud Mohsen, 38, pleaded guilty to tampering with a passport belonging to another person on 26 November 2007. He also pleaded guilty to knowingly making use of the said passport.

The court sentenced him to one year’s imprisonment suspended for two years and ordered his removal from the islands.

Police inspector Edel Mary Camilleri prosecuted.
