GlobalCapital p.l.c. – exclusive agents for BUPA Malta through GlobalCapital Health Insurance Agency Limited – have recently confirmed their support to the Luxol Men’s Basketball team. GlobalCapital and BUPA have now been supporting the LuxolL team for over four years, and throughout the years the team has managed to secure a number of important successes.

Nicholas Portelli, Chief Executive Officer for GlobalCapital p.l.c. presented the sponsorship renewal to Mr. Alfred Pace, President for Luxol Basketball Club.

Mr. Portelli commented, “Luxol sports club is a clear example of dedication and commitment to a healthy development of children and adults alike. More importantly the basketball team basis its success on the trust that players put in each other and in the club’s management. We are proud to keep on supporting such a commitment. Moreover these values are core to GlobalCapital and ‘healthy living’ is the key principle behind the BUPA brand.”

From his part, Pace thanked GlobalCapital for its continued support along the years and the trust that the company has shown in the club and its basketball team. He added that this partnership with BUPA Malta will help the club immensely to be able to further invest in the sport and its members. “Winning a trophy is always the club’s target, but having youngsters grow up in a healthy, sporting environment is and always remains of foremost goal.”

The last season 2006/2007 was a transitory season for BUPA Luxol, as they introduced new players to the team and lined up a number of youngsters. Nevertheless they still reached the Super Cup and Knock-Out Finals and made it to the Championship pool.

This season is forecast to be a better year for the team, with the recent signing of international player Marco Matijevic from Serbia.
