Winter Moods were the biggest winners at the Malta Music Awards 2007 taking away four awards for Best Band, Best Song for their hit Marigold, Best Song Writer for the band’s frontman Ivan Grech and the Vodafone Ring Tone Award. The Malta Music Awards took place last week at the MFCC in Ta’ Qali and featured some of Malta’s best talent.

“We are honoured to have our hard work recognised with these awards,” said Ivan Grech. “We would like to thank the organisers, our sponsors, our crew and most of all our fans who have always been there for us.”

In his speech Ivan also recognised other winners whose recent achievements have made the Maltese people proud, namely the Maltese National Football teams, the Rugby team and the Special Olympics athletes. This is the fourth time that Winter Moods won the Best Band award at the Malta Music Awards – the band also received the award in 1997, 2001 and 2003.

Winter Moods will be celebrating their achievements with a concert at Henry J Bean’s this evening at 10:30pm. The band will also be performing a special Christmas Concert on 24 December at the newly opened SKY club.
