The Union Haddiema Maghqudin is threatening action at the new Mater Dei Hospital over various difficulties facing the hospital employees. If action is not taken immediately about the points it was making, the union said in a letter to health director general John Cachia, it would order industrial action.
The union is complaining about the parking issue at the hospital, a shortage of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, especially in the out patients pharmacy, and about food for the employees. It also complained that to date the agreement relating to paramedical employees has not been implemented, which was unacceptable.
The union said it is also urging conclusion of talks about nursing aides.
