With reference to Paul Aquilina’s letter “Labour Councils’ incompetence persists” (TMIS 25 November), I would like to clarify the comments made regarding the proceeds from MIA tickets that are being given to the Luqa Local Council and not the Zejtun Tribunal.

A decision taken on this matter by the Local Councils’ Department in 2003, fairly and squarely confirmed that that part of the airport area falls under the jurisdiction of the Luqa Local Council.

Such assumptions and misplaced statements can only lead to unwarranted conclusions.
