During the award winning presentation at the Dolmen Hotel held on the 26th November, Chef Patissiere Robert Spiteri was awarded a bronze medal for the Chocolate Mystery Box whilst Omar Schembri won a silver medal for his passionately decorated plated sweets. In celebration of team efforts Chefs Marco Cutajar , Josef Fenech and Robert Spiteri, participated in the Grand Prix as a team and were awarded yet another silver medal. The categories in which the awards were given include practical sessions, static presentations, heats as well as the Grand Prix.

Commenting about this achievement for the Resort, General Manager Ernest Barry said, "We are all very proud of this achievement. We have a great food and beverage team and the result achieved last weekend continues to show how committed and well prepared our brigade is in maintaining and improving culinary standards. The competition is also a good vehicle for people to experiment and be innovative in their creations. Such competitions are also very good to help raise local standards and to enable individuals to forward their own self development."
