Allow me to reply to the letter titled Boffa Hospital by Valletta MLP Councillor Valerie Borg (TMID, Wednesday 21 November), by saying that, in point of fact, irrespective of the arguments listed in this letter, Floriana mayor Nigel Holland does not need advice, and/or, suggestions from any Valletta councillor, Valletta deputy mayor or Valletta mayor.

To my mind, the Valletta local council’s duty should be to attempt to improve the standard of living in Valletta, and to always see to it that the rights of each and every Valletta resident are never trampled upon.

Consequently, no Valletta councillor has the right to arrogantly dictate, (as was apparent in this letter), to the Floriana mayor or to the Floriana local council, which policies should, or should not, be implemented in Floriana.
