The Institute of Tourism Studies (ITS) held its graduation ceremony at the Corinthia Palace Hotel, Balzan last Friday, when 140 students received their certificate, diploma or higher diploma in various sectors that include food and beverage service, food preparation and production, food preparation and production supervisory skills, accommodation operations, tour guiding, travel agency, culinary arts and hospitality and tourism management.
The best students in different fields were also given special awards, sponsored by stakeholders in the tourism and hospitality industry.
The ceremony was held under the auspices of the Education, Youth and Employment Minister, Louis Galea. Tourism and Culture Minister Francis Zammit Dimech addressed those present.
Before the certificates, diplomas and awards were handed out, a 30-minute multimedia documentary about the major events at ITS during the past year was shown on the big screen. This was produced entirely by the Centre for E-Learning technologies at ITS.
