Maltese MEP David Casa and Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico had a private meeting at the European Parliament, during which topics of common interest for Malta and Slovakia were discussed.
David Casa was earlier this year nominated as rapporteur for Slovakia’s entry in the eurozone in January 2009.
The Prime Minister briefed Mr Casa on the economic situation in his country, and about the information campaign that should be launched in the coming weeks. Prime Minister Fico said that Slovakia would be looking at strategies that were adopted by other countries that joined the euro zone before Slovakia. Other topics that were discussed are investments by Maltese entrepreneurs in Slovakia.
Prime Minister Fico is looking forward to his visit to Malta in January, for the eurozone entry celebrations.
