The Labour leader was consistently making the wrong decisions, badly affecting the country, the Nationalist Party said. He had decided wrongly when in government and did the same in opposition.

One of the wrong decisions Alfred Sant had wanted to take, was to depreciate the Maltese currency by 10 per cent. Apart from the inflation caused by the rise in prices for oil, cereals and grains, that would have meant an additional 10 per cent rise in inflation, the PN added.

He had also been against low cost airlines, but the first 10 months of this year had been the best 10 months ever for tourism. Dr Sant’s visits to factories were another confirmation of his bad judgment, the PN said. Dr Sant had not wanted Malta to join the EU.

The factories he was visiting should have closed down, according to him. Farsons was one of the companies he had mentioned.
