Man Apologises for assaulting constables

A man yesterday apologised in court for assaulting two police constables and insulting a policewoman, after he pleaded guilty to the charges brought against him.

Carmel Callus also pleaded guilty to breaching the peace, in front of magistrate Saviour Demicoli. He was jailed for a year suspended for three years, and bound not to approach the three officers by a Lm100 guarantee.

Police Inspector Johann Fenech prosecuted while Dr Mark Busuttil assisted the accused.
