MLP Still the same

Malta Independent Friday, 7 December 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 20 years ago

I do not agree with the argument that the MLP lost the 1987 election because it “needed to lose” (Joe Cristina, TMID 4 December). The reason was mainly that the government treated the people very badly, and corruption had become institutionalised.

It is true that the people want a change, but it must be a change for the better. Any change, is not a good enough choice. After an election the losing party normally makes a change. The Malta Labour Party still has the same people it had 20, 30 years ago. It is afraid of change.

If my only option for the said change is a Tal-Farfett party, am I expected to vote for that party?
