For the tenth consecutive year and on the occasion of the twentieth anniversary, Hamrun Spartans FC Youth Nursery is once again organizing the Christmas Football Festival at the Victor Tedesco Stadium.
This year’s Football Festival will be held on Saturday 8th December 2007, where 22 teams from three categories (U/7, U/9, U/11) will be participating.
This Football Festival is now considered as one of the most intensive, organised in Malta since 35 matches of non-stop football are played with duration of 30 minutes each, during the same day. More than 252 boys and girls from 12 nurseries will participate in this event.
The nurseries taking part in this year’s Football Festival are Birkirkara, Floriana, Lija/Iklin, Luxol St. Andrews, Melita, Mosta, Paola H., San Gwann, St Patrick, Sliema Wanderers., Valletta and Hamrun Spartans,
Due to the professional organisation of the Festival and due to the fact that all matches are played on natural turf, its popularity now has established itself in the nurseries’ calendar of events. Proof of this is the fact that this year’s Festival was also fully registered within a couple of weeks from the opening of applications.
Whilst acknowledging the competitive spirit by which participants take part, the organisers believe that the scope of such Football Festival remains first and foremost that of delivering to the nurseries’ players a positive experience in an appropriate and conductive environment.
For the fourth year FIRETECH Ltd will be the main sponsors of this Football Festival.
