The educational services directorate aims to implement a new system of student services by setting up two services, one for counselling, the other to offer career guidance.

Education Minister Louis Galea said a director of student services is soon to be appointed, and two calls for applications would be made, for trainee counsellors and trainee career guidance officers.

He was speaking at the launch of an activities workbook used by fourth and fifth year secondary students during seminars on how to go about choosing a career. The workbook, Dr Galea said, would continue developing the tools guidance teachers had to offer a better service to students.
