Skolasport, organised by the Kunsill Malti ghall-iSport and sponsored by Kellogg’s, is currently holding Traditional Karate 90-minute sessions on Saturday mornings between 9am and 10.30am at the Cottonera Sports Complex.
Enthusiastic participants who range from 11 to 15 years in age attend these sessions with different aims and objectives in mind but all aspiring to reach one’s potential. Whether encouraged by parents or fascinated by the discipline, these youngsters gradually inherit self-discipline, confidence and independence through practicing Karate.
The Karate sessions, coached by highly-qualified black belt instructor Peter Pace develop and master the muscles in correlation with breathing and in compliance with the physic, thus “teaching your muscles how to behave” said coach Peter Pace.
Traditional Karate encompasses three aspects – the martial art aspect which helps build confidence and self-esteem; the self-defence aspect which replaces fear by readiness and the sports aspect of competition and fitness.
Kellogg’s sponsors Skolasport and its initiatives to implement its philosophy and encourages young people to lead a healthy life style.
