The Sliema Football Nursery recently held an activity to commemorate the founder of the Nursery, the late Guzi Fava who passed away 16 years ego.

Besides family members, past and present members of the Nursery attended for a Mass held at St Aloysius College, during the Mass Rev Joe Abela and Rev Tonio Mifsud the celebrants praised the ideals that led Mr Fava to contribute so much not only to Maltese football but to youth welfare in general.

After Mass Tony Meli Chairman of the Nursery presented educational material to all participants who took part in an Essay and Drawing competition organized by the Nursery. Mr Meli remarked that the Sliema Nursery is continuing on the ideals of Guzi Fava as the educational aspect of the Football Nursery is given its due importance and the administration was pleased to see that such activities are well received by the boys and girls of the Nursery.

Meli thanked Ramon Zammit, Mitchele Mangion and Merlin Library for their cooperation in this activity.

At the end of the Presentation Tony Meli announced that in order to commemorate the 25th Anniversary of the Nursery special activities will be held throughout the next year.
