Labour leader Alfred Sant has met the council of APEX, the Maltese cooperatives organisation, to congratulate them on the 60th anniversary of the cooperatives movement in Malta, and on APEX’s own 10th anniversary.

He was presented with the copy of a publication produced for the occasion, by APEX president Anglu Azzopardi.

There are some 60 cooperatives in Malta, having over 4,600 members. Many are self-employed and run a family business.
